Rebecca Winstanley

Becca is a first year PhD student at Durham University, supervised by Dr Rich Brown, Dr Katy Chamberlain, Dr Charlotte Vye-Brown, Dr Katie Preece and Dr Fabian Wadsworth. She did her MscR on the Sisters scoria cone complex and will now move her focus onto the fissure known as Devil’s Ink Pot, found RW picturedown at Letterbox. She will combine physical volcanology and geochemistry to understand the fissure’s eruption dynamics and to investigate how intermediate magmas are generated underneath Ascension. She has just returned from a 7-week field season on the island and is looking forwards to getting stuck into all her rocks and data!
